Iraq Vets PTSD Study at Marshall University: A clinical trial of PTSD is currently underway at Marshall University, sponsored by Soul Medicine Institute. It is a randomzized, blind, controlled study. Vets are given a group of psychological tests, and their stress biochemistry (cortisol, a primary stress hormone, and DHEA, a cell repair hormone) is measured. They are then given four treatments with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), after which their psychological state and stress biochemistry is measured again. They are also tested after six months, to determine if any effects of treatment are lasting and permanent. Click here to see a letter from one of the Iraq vets enrolled in the study, as he describes the positive changes that have transpired since he began treatment for PTSD in the Soul Medicine Institute study. |
